How do you like your coffee?
We like ours with a sense of wonder
Every day, if we can, we all like to indulge in small comforts. Maybe it’s a few minutes on social media, maybe it's staying up late with a good read, or maybe its even as simple as wrapping yourself in a warm blanket on a cold day.
So many of these comforts are free: a bright smile, a laugh, a hug. And yet, there are some comforts we are willing to put a little extra into, just to make them better. Maybe that frappe is just so much better with an extra shot of caramel. Fries just aren’t as good without an extra sauce or two.
We don’t pay a lot for these. Maybe a few cents, or even a few dollars. We drop the change on the counter, and don’t think about it again. Why? Because the change itself is shadowed in value by the comfort, enjoyment, and pleasure purchased with it.
As an artist and a writer, my goal is to bring works of writing, words of wonder, and worlds which welcome weary wanderers within their warm-hearted walls. The best part? These stories are free. Articles of advice and stories of splendor alike are provided, free of charge, for your encouragement, inspiration, and wonder.
My hope is that, as you sit on your couch, coffee in hand, and wrapped in the softest comforter you have, you’ll be reading a few stories, and that reading those stories will encourage and uplift you. No concerns about limited articles or membership fees. Ever.
So as you finish reading your next article, heart strengthened and soul refreshed, would you consider getting a coffee for me? I like coffee as much as any of the rest of us (it helps when writing sessions get late, trust me). It would mean so much to me if you would be willing to take a moment to drop some change between the pages of these articles, and pass on the wonder.
A donation means more than someone can ever really express. Of course, the receiver is grateful. It is hard to live without money, after all. But more than a gift, a donation is a statement, and one far more powerful than can be expressed with words. With a gift, one heart says to another “I believe in you. Now take what brought me joy, and bring it to another”.
And who knows? Maybe because of your gift, someday, someone else can discover some wonder of their own.
